Hey 👋, I'm Matt Romanes

Software Engineer based in Melbourne, Australia. I spent three years as lead developer at Omega Networks building Pulse — an infrastructure digital twin platform for Wellington councils — and I'm now focused on cloud and DevOps work in Azure.

  • 🔭 Pulse was my main project at Omega: architected from blueprint to production, integrating NetBox and Zabbix APIs into a unified real-time monitoring system, plus a custom on-device RAG pipeline using Apple's MLX framework.

  • ☁️ Recentlyb built up-to-actual — a serverless Azure Functions pipeline that syncs Up Bank transactions into Actual Budget automatically. Deployed to production, monitored via Application Insights, runs daily at 2am Melbourne time for ~$0/month.

  • 🌱 Focused on Azure, serverless architecture, and DevOps patterns. Attending Melbourne Azure Nights and building in the open.
