Clean up Meshtastic Code

Using SonarQube, several improvements were made to clean up code and reduce concern:

• updated vulnerable dependencies
• cleaned up code by using standard formatting, breaking down complex functions into smaller functions.
• tested all driver functionality with real hardware

@earocorn , yes. Before I created the pull request, I tested the driver's output and controls using a single Meshtastic Heltec Radio connected to my computer via Serial. The driver successfully picked up data from 3 additional Meshtastic GPS Radios and successfully sent/received text messages using the driver's controls.
