Describe the bug

on some video on YouTube the framerate is normal and on others it is now very slow - looks like a slideshow. the audio is normal. i do run an adblocker but I disabled it and have the same problem. it's not every video. for example, news media videos look like a slideshow and other videos do not.

Steps to reproduce the bug

i don't see a pattern other than News, eg. Fox, CBS, etc. are very slow framerates compared to videos that play normally.

UPDATE:

• I enabled #ignore-gpu-blocklist flag. While a video was playing, I toggled the playback speed to 2x and then back to normal, this caused the video to play correctly. However, the stuttering returned if I skipped forward or backward, or if I switched to another webpage and then returned to the video.
• I didn't have any problem with 4k60fps HDR videos.
• Laptop specs: i5-13500h, intel iris xe, 16gb ddr5

Thanks for the link. It’s happening to me too.
I think it’s linked to the patch that removes support for FFmpeg’s licensed codecs. I’ll try disabling it and let you know.

I think I've been using Cromite since it first came out for Android. I've often experienced frame rate drops, even on web pages with plain text.
