The installer installs the macFUSE kernel extension, but you don't need to adjust security settings or reboot in case you don't want to use the kernel extension. You can just skip the kernel extension step and use the FSKit backend. Please note that the FSKit backend is not feature complete, yet.
Eventually, I will update the installer to skip trying to load the kernel extension unless you specifically tell it to. But it will take a little time for the FSKit backend to be catch up with the kernel extension backend feature-wise. |

The current version of macfuse requires the installation of a system extension requires rebooting the machine and adjusting security settings.
Is it possible to provide an installation package or installation parameters that are only for the new system and only support FSKit mode?
