GSC — UI Simplification & Feature Plan to better support BioSAS community

Problem: GSC tries to serve many communities (magnetic SANS → soft matter → bio) and feels overwhelming.

Proposal

• Split UI by workflow (e.g., BioSAS, Soft matter, Magnetic) with lean task-focused panels.
• Make hydration shell/solvent contrast first-class for BioSAS.
• Keep advanced toggles discoverable but not default.
• Add “Export scattering from PDB” one-click flow.

Tasks

• Draft wireframes for simplified BioSAS panel
• Identify mandatory vs advanced options
• Tech spike: config-driven UI sections for future extensibility
• Usability test with 3–5 BioSAS users
