Quick was quick said. It is nearly ready but sucks on old templating mechanism, i would try to keep (no switch to FLUID). Currently no time left to stick into...

It works on TYPO3 9.5.8 (Tested Branch develop). If the plugin is included in the site using a Content Element, the following TypoScript is also necessary to make it work:

tt_content.list.20.eepcollect_pi1 =< plugin.tx_eepcollect_pi1

Branch develop is not installable via composer since typo3/cms-core is required in a version smaller than 9.5. Please adjust you composer.json so that is installable on 9.5.

EDIT:
Also, for TYPO3 9.5, make sure friendsoftypo3/typo3db-legacy is added as dependency - since this plugin uses $GLOBALS['TYPO3_DB'].

My proposal:
Either split now into tow versions, the first for TYPO3 8.7, the second one for 9.5 OR keep one version for both TYPO3 versions, and add something like that in your composer.json
