[Feat Request]: Can we have a one-shot or run on startup and exit

As in the title. Currently, the having a CRON entry is mandatory and that prevents the container from exiting without a CTRL C after making the backup. It currently prevents scripting since the service doesn't exit. Having a flag that only makes the backup or prune or verify without any CRON task would be nice.
