ProXPL Code of Conduct

Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free community for all members, regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, political beliefs, race, religion, sexual identity and orientation, socioeconomic status, or technical ability.

Expected Behavior

All members are expected to:

  • Be Inclusive: Welcome and support people from all backgrounds
  • Be Professional: Keep discussions focused, constructive, and on-topic
  • Be Patient: Remember that everyone is learning and growing
  • Be Collaborative: Work together toward shared goals
  • Report Issues: Use appropriate channels to report violations

Unacceptable Behavior

Unacceptable behaviors include:

  • Harassment, discrimination, or intimidation of any kind
  • Offensive comments related to protected characteristics
  • Personal attacks or insults
  • Trolling or deliberate disruption
  • Spamming or unwanted advertising
  • Sexual or inappropriate content
  • Sharing private information without consent
  • Any other conduct that creates a hostile environment

Consequences

Violations of this code of conduct may result in:

  1. Warning: Direct communication about the violation
  2. Temporary Suspension: Temporary removal from community spaces
  3. Permanent Ban: Removal from the project and community

The severity of consequences depends on the nature and severity of the violation.

Reporting Guidelines

How to Report

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior:

  1. Document: Note what happened, when, and who was involved
  2. Report: Contact the maintainers at proxpl-conduct@example.com
  3. Provide Context: Include as much detail as helpful
  4. Respect Privacy: Your report will be kept confidential

What Happens Next

  1. Acknowledgment: You'll receive confirmation within 24 hours
  2. Investigation: Maintainers will investigate thoroughly
  3. Resolution: Appropriate action will be taken
  4. Follow-up: You'll be informed of outcomes (when appropriate)

Community Guidelines

On GitHub

  • Issues: Keep discussions relevant to the issue
  • Pull Requests: Provide clear descriptions and address feedback respectfully
  • Comments: Be constructive; critique code, not people

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • All GitHub repositories under the ProXPL organization

  • Unofficial channels where you represent ProXPL

Amendments

This Code of Conduct may be updated to reflect community needs. All changes will be announced to the community with adequate notice.
