Feature description

When Rotating a Picture you need 2 clicks. You press the button and Select the correct rotation.
Then you need another 3 clicks to save that change you just made.

This was probably made this way for a reason.
Yes I am aware every time you save a jpg file you lose quality. And especially by Pixel Rotation.

But an OPTIONAL App Setting "instantly Save Rotation Changes" which is disabled by default, would certainly be welcomed by many.
Or not?

So whenever you click on Rotate and the rotate right it automatically overwrites the existing file. 3 clicks saved.

Especially in Landscape mode it instantly opens the keyboard to rename the file and you have to close that one as well.

This probably should NOT work for rotation gestures? Or should it?

Why do you want this feature?

Because for some those additional 3 clicks are a hassle!
Yet for others it will stay exactly the same as it has been as its a new setting not activated by default.

I'm all in for this long standing improvement request.

I've realized only recently (resuming Gallery when #129 got fixed) that some parts of #227 might be referring to the internal editor, whilst my plea there referred to the rotate feature. (I use an external editor for other operations.)

As of v1.13.1, every use of the rotate button still requires as many as three additional taps to save the rotation already. That's unreasonable.

AFAIK, mere rotation is lossless. That's what renders the three tap confirmation so extraordinarily moot.

As I use rotate a lot, I've put the Rotate button in the bottom action bar. It rotates by 90°, 180°, 270° by single, double, or triple tap, resp. Because it's all happening at the same screen position, it takes little more effort than just one tap, as opposed to the current confirmation procedure that requires you to navigate your finger to a second, third, and fourth screen position before tapping there.

Tedium aside, I already notice developing routine muscle memory for the "three tap action" Check mark->OK->OK. That's a clear indication of the extra two taps being pointless in the context of confirming a lossless rotation. Pointless dialogs wear the user's attention, and thereby erode (rather than facilitate) the interactional safety they aim to provide.

That's how it used to work in Simple Gallery. I'd be happy returning to that simplicity, but wouldn't mind if a single additional tap at the tick mark was needed, either.
However, it should never take two or three.
